Don grew up “helping out” at the station. All through junior and senior
high and college, he worked nights and Saturdays in the family
business. He enjoys baseball, gardening and travel. He has 3
children and 2 grandchildren. Don and Hank worked many years
together before they bought the business from Don’s father, Don
Tigchelaar Sr. in 1984.
Hank has been “hanging around” our corner for over 40 years. He
started working part-time in 1967. The station was a short walk
for him, as he lived across the street! After graduating from high
School, he joined Don Sr. as an apprentice mechanic. He enjoys
watching hockey and racing in his leisure time, as well as travel.
Hank has 4 children and 2 grandchildren.
John joined Hank and Don in 1986, after it became apparent that
the growing business could use another mechanic. John had
worked at a local automobile heating and a/c shop and was a
perfect fit for Don’s BP. John has 2 children and 5 grandchildren.
He enjoys hunting and being “up north” in his trailer in the woods.
